Great Works:
I have written many papers throughout my high school career. Below are the ones I feel are my best.
Grandpa:
I wrote this paper for a personal narrative assignment right after my grandpa passed away. I'm really proud of the way I used flashbacks in this paper, something I have always struggled with. I start the story by my mom telling me about my grandpa's passing, then I expand into all the memories that flashed through my mind in that moment. It offers my unique perspective to my grandpa and how I remember him.

Girl:
For one of our units, we had to use a medium, other than words, inspired by or based on a short story we had read. I made a video of Girls reading "Girl" by Jamaica Kincaid. I thought that this medium fit well with the short story and the connection between the themes in the story and the common themes of a teenage girls life meshed well.

Cuckoo's Nest Movie Review
In Our One Flew the Cukoo's Nest unit, we wrote a movie review on the film adaptation. To the right is my review of the movie that expresses my personal opinions on the film. I focused my review on the film itself, not the book to film adaptation.

Othello: A Modern Twist
|
For our Shakespeare unit, our class divided into groups to create modern adaptations of different scenes from Merchant of Venice. We chose to create Act II scene I, Act II scene IX, and Act III scene II. We adapted it into the teenage soap-opera genre. It's kinda cringe-y, but slightly entertaining.

Beloved Book Cover
A.P. Essay
In preparation for the A.P. test, our class did several practice essays. This is one of my favorites I did on a poems prompt with two poems with the same topic, Helen of Troy. My A.P. teacher graded this paper and gave it a seven out of nine, which is an upper level score.
